Hypochondriac Pain
Hypochondriac pain, a subjective symptom commonly seen in the clinic, refers to a painful sensation either on one side or both sides of the hypochondriac regions. Since the Liver Meridian travels along the hypochondriac regions, and the liver and gallbladder are internally and externally related, the hypochondriac pain is mostly concerned with disorder of the liver and gallbladder. In modern medicine, hypochondriac pain is included in hepatopathy, biliary disorders and intercostal neuralgia.
